As a science advisor in the Office of Trade Policy & Geographic Affairs, Emily covers a portfolio of land use, biodiversity, and deforestation-related issues. She is the lead U.S. government expert on the EU Deforestation-Free Supply Chain Regulation. Emily started at USDA in 2022 as an AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow. Prior to her time at USDA, she was a research associate at the Yale Center for Biodiversity and Global Change, where she specialized in biodiversity metrics and mapping.
